In an experiment gone wrong, Dr. William Planck accidently sends his friend, Dr. Albert Greenwall, into another universe that exists within the empty spaces of atoms in his garage. After being released from a prison sentence for the presumed death of Albert, Will decides to recreate the device to find him and bring him back home. After entering the device, Will crosses over into another world and learns Albert is still alive, but over 100 years has passed for him in this universe. While on his way to reunite with his friend, a group calling themselves the Resistance hijacks the vessel and informs him Albert is the leader of the Galactic Legion, an organization that has enslaved the entire universe. Will decides to help the Resistance free the universe from Albert’s control in exchange for helping him find a way home.
